Smart Retries for Cards

In order to maximise authorisation approval rates, PPRO employs a multi-acquirer approach for card processing. This not only gives us provider redundancy, increasing the availability of our platform, but also allows us to route payment requests to the acquirer through which it has the best chance of being approved.

In some cases, for example due to acquirer unavailability or following certain soft declines, PPRO can make a new authorisation attempt for the same payment before the response is returned to you. We call this a Smart Retry.

Smart Retries are real-time retries initiated by PPRO on behalf of the merchant. It leverages our multi-acquiring infrastructure to dynamically route authorisation requests to alternate acquirers, improving authorisation rates and overall payment success. Merchants receive a single response including the result of the final authorisation attempt.
